   Hello Simon,

   I am a great fan of hashcash, and I have used it extensively on our service.

   Thanks to a comment of one of our users, I have found your hashcash module for Drupal, and I have installed it in place of the captcha modules.

   The problem is that in the first couple of ours, I have got already three spam messages. :-(

   Is it possible to tune the cost of the toll the hashcash is requesting? Is there anything else I should do to improve the efficacy of your module?

   Unfortunately if you increase the toll of the module the majority of clients I tested complain of a “slow script” resulting in the code not being executed when the user selects to stop the script.

   I actually suspect that the module may not be set up correctly on your site, can you post some information to the project’s Drupal page.

   Hello Simon,

   after a few spam messages posted during the first few hours after I installed the hashcash module, nothing else has been submitted.

   So my complains are almost gone.

   If you would like to improve the hashcash implementation (I suppose done in Javascript) to avoid the “slow script” warning I think I can provide you some good advices, as I have already done it for my own service.

   I have just tried to submit a new comment on our site, and I am alway getting a “Your hashcash string is not valid. Are you a spammer?” error message. :-(

   How should I proceed to diagnose this issue?

   Hello Simon, I would like to confirm that version 1.4 seems to work great!

   I am still willing to help you in implementing the Javascript algorithm in a way that will not trigger the “slow script” warning; this will allow the option to set the toll cost per site/page (possibly in the module’s settings).

   Thanks for the offer Guilio, but it will never be possible to alter the hashcash algorithm so that it doesn’t trigger a slow script warning, it’s meant to be a slow script.
